Who is Matteo, the founder of Bullet?

If you ask me why I started Bullet, the answer is not “because I wanted to build windsurfing boards.”

It started with a question:

What if a brand was built around racing first?

My name is Matteo Baruchello. I am the founder of Bullet — but I didn’t come from the windsurfing industry.

For more than twenty years, I have worked in technology and consulting, dealing with complex projects, people and systems. Windsurfing has always been my passion, and racing has always been the part of it that interested me most.

I like what racing demands.

There is nowhere to hide. Preparation matters. Equipment matters. Decisions matter. And ultimately, everything has to work together around the athlete.

That is the way I started looking at the windsurfing industry.

And I started asking questions.

Why does a racing brand need to do everything?

Why should a brand that supports an athlete stop at providing equipment?

And what would happen if racing was not a category of the brand, but its starting point?

Bullet was my answer.

I decided to build a company around one discipline: fin slalom racing.

But the boards are only one part of the idea.

I want Bullet to build something around the people who race — through the products, the Racing Team, the support we provide and the way we work with athletes.

I’m not trying to build the biggest windsurfing brand.

I’m trying to build a different kind of racing brand.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. Bullet is still young, and I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way.

But that’s also why I want to talk openly about what I’m learning.

About racing.

About athletes.

About sponsorship.

About building a specialised brand in a market dominated by much bigger companies.

This blog is where I will share that journey — and the ideas behind the decisions I make at Bullet.

I’m Matteo Baruchello.

I founded Bullet because I believe racing deserves a brand built around it.
