Why the Next Big Name Might Be Someone You’ve Never Heard Of

Bullet Boards

I became a windsurfer in the early ’90s, when a PBA rider, what we now call the PWA, was a true professional: a huge community, solid sponsors, real opportunities. Today, the landscape has changed. The market has shrunk, the scene has become fragmented, and what once helped a promising rider grow is no longer enough.

Talent alone isn’t enough anymore. You need time, resources, consistency. And many of those who could become champions simply don’t have the conditions to try. This inevitably reshapes what “pro” really means.

This is where one of Bullet’s clearest choices comes from: focusing on real excellence, the excellence of “everyday” athletes.
Riders who work, study, carve out time whenever they can, yet every time they hit the water, they do it with a determination that rivals any big name out there.

We don’t have top riders in the team, and that’s intentional. We believe in those who grind, in those who earn every meter of progress. To us, these athletes deserve the same attention, the same respect, and the same support that once defined professional windsurfing.

And this translates into very concrete actions.
At Bullet, we don’t promise illusions, and we don’t rain free gear on anyone. We’re transparent: we work with the resources we have and invest them as fairly as possible. What we truly offer is an environment where every rider, from the fastest to the last on the results sheet, is valued equally. No one is treated as “second tier” for not being a top rider.
Those who join the team find support, a direct dialogue, opportunities that grow alongside the project and, when possible, also financial or technical help. But above all, they find a brand that believes in their growth and will do everything possible to support them on their journey, step by step.

If one day a top rider decides to race with Bullet, they’ll be welcome. But our focus won’t change: we’re not here to “sell” an athlete. We’re here to highlight the authentic passion that drives this sport and the people who dedicate themselves to it away from the spotlight.

Bullet exists for this: to give space, motivation, and tools to those who put everything they have into windsurfing.
Because excellence doesn’t belong only to world champions.
It belongs to those who never stop trying.

From rider to riders: I know that path, and I know how much it matters not to walk it alone.
